ClearOne's Strategic Patent for Streaming Audio, Video and Control Over IP Networks Now Granted in Korea Following Grants in United States and AustraliaSALT LAKE CITY, June 7, 2010 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- ClearOne (http://www.clearone.com) /quotes/comstock/15*!clro/quotes/nls/clro (CLRO 3.03, 0.00, 0.00%) , a global communications solutions company that develops and sells conferencing, collaboration, streaming media, and connectivity systems for audio, video and web applications, today announced that its StreamNet® technology has received a Notice of Decision to Grant Patent from the Korean Intellectual Property Office, letter #10-2004-7017970 and dated May 3, 2010.

The patent for audio network distribution system, the streaming of time-sensitive audio and video signals over Local Area Networks, is the third such patent obtained by ClearOne. The company also holds U.S. patent # 7,643,894 for its audio network distribution system, granted on January 5, 2010; and patent # 2003-241405 in Australia for streaming A/V over Local Area Networks.

"Our efforts to secure patents worldwide means that ClearOne customers are assured that our technology and our StreamNet devices are interoperable in international markets," says Michael Braithwaite, Senior Vice President of Technology for ClearOne. "Streaming audio and video over an IP-based network is the fundamental basis for communication and entertainment in today's world, and it has applications in digital signage, corporate A/V boardrooms, and command and control centers, among others."

ClearOne's patented StreamNet technology enables system integrators to provision complete, end-to-end IP-based audio and video distribution solutions over TCP/IP network infrastructures. Each StreamNet device possesses built-in network intelligence, allowing for automatic discovery and configuration once connected to the network.

With StreamNet technology, integrators worldwide can know that the need to configure and program an entire A/V network from scratch is unnecessary. Plug-and-play connectivity, A/V signal synchronization, high performance A/V reproduction, and content control are just a few benefits to using ClearOne's StreamNet technology.

"StreamNet is the only standard that works between regions and between countries across the world," continues Braithwaite. "Unlike other devices such as cell phones, TVs, and DVD players, our StreamNet technology and devices are region agnostic. StreamNet touches every aspect of A/V collaboration worldwide."
