NetStreams Audio and Control System Installed In Host Venue for 2010 Winter Olympic Games

SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NetStreams, the pioneer in AV over IP networking, recently acquired by ClearOne (http://www.clearone.com) (Nasdaq: CLRO), the leading global provider of audio conferencing solutions, today announced that a NetStreams distributed audio and control system was recently installed at BC Place, the dominant sports and entertainment complex in Vancouver, Canada, the host of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies, and home of the Canadian football BC Lions.

Based on a recommendation by the consultant, Ian Wolfe of Acoustical Design Group, of Mission, Kansas, a NetStreams DigiLinX™ IP-based audio solution was selected. The NetStreams system, which is implemented on an existing data network infrastructure, is easily managed from any location on the network and can be managed remotely. The installed DigiLinX system is also utilizing a NetStreams touch screen controller in each of the 55 luxury suites.

"We felt the NetStreams system was the best fit for the customer based on the requirements for the BC Place Project," said Ian Wolfe, Vice President of Acoustical Design Group. "The customer was very pleased with the system, and was extremely happy with the sound quality of the NetStreams system combined with the Martin Speakers. The NetStreams product is great, and the NetStreams technical staff went far above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that the system performed at the highest levels possible. We would not hesitate to use NetStreams again on any future project."

The BC Place stadium project presented some additional requirements that the NetStreams solution solved for events throughout the year. For example, first, display custom graphics were needed on every touch panel for each luxury suite. Then custom graphics would need to change based on various events taking place in the stadium. Further, for BC Lion events additional display graphics would need to be changed based on what team they plan to play in the Canadian Football League.

BC Place was one of the first projects that utilized the NetStreams translucent button feature along with some public safety features that would be displayed on every NetStreams touch panel.

The owners, BC Pavilion Corporation, contracted Western Pacific Enterprises GP, one of the largest installers in the region, for a complete upgrade of the luxury suites that ring the stadium.
