ClearOne CHAT 50 and CHAT 150 certified interoperable with Mirial SoftphoneSeptember 1, 2009 – (Milan, Italy) Mirial, a leading provider of products and solutions for professional video conferencing and for the development of multichannel audio/video services, today announced that it has certified the CHAT™ 50 USB Personal Speakerphone and the CHAT 150 VC from ClearOne to be interoperable with the Mirial Softphone desktop video conferencing solution.

The Mirial Softphone is a software-only client for professional quality videoconferencing. The first to provide full HD (1080p) support, embedded MCU functionality, and advanced media encryption, the Mirial Softphone is fully compliant with all major visual communications standards and can be seamlessly integrated into every visual communications network. With the Mirial Softphone, any user with a webcam and a PC can take advantage of the benefits of visual communication in a totally secure environment.

Mirial's certification program provided rigorous testing aimed at verifying the full compatibility of the CHAT 50 and CHAT 150 with the Mirial Softphone. Technical teams at both Mirial and ClearOne worked together to certify that the products interoperated successfully. The Mirial team reported that multiple trials produced a smooth and satisfactory user experience with audio from the CHAT 50 and CHAT 150 that was clear and natural-sounding.

"Interoperability has always been a primary concern within Mirial's technical development process," said Cristoforo Mione, VP Business Development at Mirial. "Certified product compatibility is a big benefit for the end user, since it eliminates a user's frustration at getting different out-of-the-box solutions to work together effectively. We appreciate ClearOne's willingness to work with us and provide our customers with plug-and-play solutions that offer the highest-quality performance with the least effort possible".

"As the deployment of VoIP softphones and desktop video conferencing continues to become more mainstream, we are seeing a tremendous increase in demand for our speakerphones," said Dave Petricig, Vice President of North American Telephony Sales at ClearOne. "New users of video conferencing applications soon find that their laptop or PC does not provide adequate microphone coverage, sufficient echo and noise cancellation or high quality sound from the speakers. The marriage of our CHAT 50 and CHAT 150 with the Mirial Softphone solution will ensure high quality audio and video to give users a positive experience and benefit from the adoption of this technology."

Both Mirial and ClearOne offer a free, fully-featured product trial for their Mirial Softphone, CHAT 50 and CHAT 150. More information can be found on Mirial's and ClearOne's websites: www.mirial.com and www.clearone.com
